Weddings During Pandemic Inspire Intimate Ceremonies

Spring and summer of 2020 will be remembered as a strange period of global quarantines and lockdowns. For those who planned weddings, the memories will always have the shadow of the pandemic.

As the COVID-19 pandemic approaches its one year anniversary, people are looking back at the time lost during quarantine: Birthdays passed, trips canceled, and events postponed indefinitely. For couples who planned summer 2020 weddings, all the time and energy spent over seating charts and venue decorating seemed wasted, but not for everyone. Couples who chose not to postpone their wedding found ways to hold smaller, more creative wedding ceremonies with only their immediate families and loved ones. A bride, a sister, and a wedding planner share their stories of quickly planned celebrations that meant more than a traditional wedding might have. Reported by Isabel Sami, Sept-Dec 2020.
